"It's a computer, bitch. Err, we mean glitch, computer glitch..."
I am not a gambler. I really work way too hard for my money for it to be taken away from me in games of chance. I sometimes throw money down for a few boxes here and there or play a “friendly” game of poker. A “friendly” game being a 20 dollar buy in… and not playing from midnight until 6am.
I also hate casinos because all they are trying to do is offer a possible big win, when in reality they are robbing you. Of course, the booze are free while you gamble. Well, you’re certainly going to need a drink after you blow through your entire savings.
That’s why this story bothers me so much. Because some people gamble a little bit, here and there, in hopes of hitting it big… and for this woman in Colorado she thought she had finally won the big one. She was on this slot machine, she spins, and all the bells and whistles go off letting her know that she had won the 43 million dollar jackpot!! Oh, WAIT!! Of course, the casino tells her that there was a computer glitch and that she had really actually won absolutely nothing.
Am I the only one who finds this odd? These casinos have the highest level of computer technology and the best security programs and some “accident” tells someone they won 43 million?? Anyone else think they swooped in and fucked with the machine to make it look like a glitch? They gave her back her 20 bucks, a free night stay and a free meal. Yeah, thanks a lot assholes!

"OMG!! I won $350.00 and only spent $500.00!!"
The shittiest part of the story is that feeling she must have had for those few moments where she thought her life had changed. That money was no longer going to be a problem. That all the bills were paid and the debts were gone, and she could live the rest of her life without the daily stress.
“Nope. Computer problem, here is your 20 bucks back. Sorry.”
This is how casinos are. They are crooks, and when they lose they think of every way to not pay. It’s almost like an insurance company and the “pre-existing condition” is being poor. I wonder if the casinos across the nation are working on their “computer problems” for every win they actually do end up paying out.
