Haters Be Hatin'

"Stupid fucking Americans."

Over the weekend, I did what most of you out there have done- I texted 90-999 and gave ten dollars of my next phone bill to the Red Cross to help with the relief effort in Haiti. Companies and celebrities around the world are making huge donations to help…  even Royal Caribbean cruise lines. They are docking 60 miles away on a private beach and delivering supplies. Unfortunately, they are still delivering vacationers.

That’s right, even though the ship delivered 40 pallets of food, which was probably all their leftovers from cancelled reservations, the people who stayed on the cruise took to the beach, set up a barbecue and partied it up! Not everyone took to the beach, some passengers did stay on the boat and watched the other people livin’ it up, repulsed  by the idea of partying on land of which is shared with so many people in pain and heartache.

I understand that you save up money for a vacation, but seriously, if you saw the itinerary had Haiti on the map, wouldn’t you pick a different package?

Now here is my main question- did Royal Caribbean refuse refunds? I want someone out there to investigate this. Were these people so invested in their cruise packages that they had to party every chance they got? I assume that is the case. I have to assume that these people paid so much money that they had to party on a beach where 60 miles away… 200,000 people are dead.

Also, who gave them a barbecue grill in the first place? Bet it had that Royal Caribbean logo on it. Disgusting.

This article is dumb, Royal Caribbean is the #1 employer of Northern Haiti. The fact that there was a catastrophe on the other side of the island doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t do business with the other Haitians. If RC were to avoid docking in Haiti that would cripple what little economic regularity they have left and leave hundreds to thousands out of work and without money to support themselves and possibly injured friends/family from the earthquake. I also heard that any activity on the island booked through the cruise line will go 100% to the relief effort. In short: don’t hate on the Royal Caribbean cruise line.

@admin, Im just saying that even though, i am too american, those people who did those things, where really just plain dumb, and America isnt know as the “smartest” country in the world, and its true Ex.(Bush, Glenn Beck, Etc.)

@Nate, The Great, dude, not to get into a Rep vs. Dem discussion on here, but they’re having trouble getting supplies into Haiti because of Hil-dawg closing down the airport so she could land and make a public appearance. Not sure what the ex president and a news commentator have to do with anything, but that’s a lot more of a party foul to politicize a tragedy.

@skippkipp, I am sorry that my article is dumb, and I am glad that RC is largest employer in all of Haiti, but would you not agree that people having a good time on the beach is in poor taste?

@LessThanWalker, It’s about as bad of taste as if there were a tragedy at Disney (example: if the pirates ate the tourist) and people continued to go to Busch Gardens in Tampa. Now if they were running up and down the streets in Port-au-Prince singing Elvis Presley’s “All Shook Up” then that would be a little different.

@skippkipp, I now have no friggin clue where your stand, but I agree with Walker, also, that Bush/Beck comment I had put up there wasn’t typed to you, so shut up. Those people that had a good time on Haiti are the ones being hate on, not RC.

@skippkipp, Also isn’t sweatshop labor the largest employer in Haiti?

@LessThanWalker, I don’t know about that, but I did hear from somewhere that they did some kind of work for the devil? I don’t know if that counts though.
